Privacy Notice

Last updated · May 31, 2026

This notice explains how Yibo William Yang ("Snapiq", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data in connection with the Snapiq Chrome extension, website, and related services. We act as the data controller.

1. Personal data we collect

  • Account data, name, email, profile picture (from Google sign-in).
  • Usage data, counts of screenshots, merges, and full-page captures.
  • Billing data, subscription status, plan, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
  • Technical data, device identifiers, browser type, IP address, log data.
  • Support data, messages you send us.

Screenshots are created and processed locally in your browser. Snapiq does not upload screenshot contents to our servers.

2. How we use your data

  • To operate your account and enforce free/Pro usage limits (contract).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe (contract).
  • To prevent fraud and ensure security (legitimate interests).
  • To improve our products and provide support (legitimate interests / contract).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share data with

  • Stripe, payment processing, subscription billing, tax calculation, invoicing. Card data is collected directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
  • Supabase, our database and authentication provider; stores account, usage and billing-reference data on our behalf.
  • Google, authentication ("Continue with Google") and Google Ads conversion measurement (see §8).
  • Authorities, where required by law.

4. International transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

5. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed. Account data is deleted on request or shortly after account deletion. Usage logs are retained for up to 24 months. Billing records may be retained longer where required by tax or accounting law.

6. Your rights

  • Access, correct or delete your data;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Receive a portable copy;
  • Withdraw consent;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We respond to verified requests within 1 month.

7. Security

We apply encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege database policies.

8. Cookies, local storage and analytics

We use a small number of cookies, browser local-storage entries, and third-party scripts. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers beyond conversion measurement, marketing pixels, session-replay tools, or behavioural profiling.

8.1 Strictly necessary

  • Authentication / session, Supabase Auth stores your session token in browser local storage so you stay signed in. Without it you cannot use your account.
  • Payment session, during Pro checkout or when opening the Stripe customer portal, Stripe sets short-lived cookies on its hosted pages to process the payment and prevent fraud.

8.2 Third-party scripts loaded on snapiq.tools

  • Google Ads conversion tracking (gtag.js), we load googletagmanager.com/gtag/js on every page with the Google Ads tag IDs AW-18143962140 and AW-18111915751, and fire a single conversion event (AW-18111915751/wF3PCPX-wK0cEOfNt7xD) so we can measure which ads led to sign-ups. Google may set cookies on google.com / doubleclick.net under their own privacy policy. We do not load Google Analytics (GA4), and we do not build remarketing audiences.
  • Stripe, loaded only on pages with checkout or billing UI, to process payments and detect fraud. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Google OAuth, when you click "Continue with Google", you are redirected to accounts.google.com to sign in. We do not embed Google's sign-in script in the page; the OAuth redirect is the only Google sign-in surface.

8.3 What we do not use

No Google Analytics, no Meta / Facebook Pixel, no TikTok pixel, no PostHog, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar / FullStory / session-replay, no Sentry, no Intercom, no third-party live-chat trackers.

8.4 Your choices

You can block third-party cookies and scripts in your browser settings or with an extension; the Snapiq Chrome extension itself does not depend on Google Ads or Stripe scripts to capture screenshots. Signing out clears your authentication token from local storage. To opt out of Google Ads personalisation more broadly, see Google Ads Settings.
